Water source heat pump systems, including geothermal type, are used when extremely high efficiencies and correspondingly low operating costs are necessary for buildings that require simultaneous heating and/or cooling in multiple zones.  Every thermostatically controlled zone has the capability of either heating or cooling independently of outside temperature, inside occupancies or thermostat settings in other zones.
